Ganesh Ustav, one of the major celebration in the India. It is mainly celebrate in Maharashtra and the southern part of the country. Modak, a sweet dumpling has a special importance in the worship of Lord Ganesha. Usually, 11 or 21 modaks are offered in the puja (worship).
Modak is considered lord Ganesha's favourite food. Every house makes modak on the occasion of Sankasthi as well. It observed in Maharashtra by Hindus on a larger scale.
