Be it a football match or hockey, a friends party or a office meet, a movie theater or home, nachos is a perfect snack for every occasion. As the dish has travel across the globe, there have been a lot of variations in it. However, the key ingredients remain the same. Fried tortilla chips, Cheddar cheese, jalapenos.
Before you dive in the bowl of nachos, lets get to know a little about its origin.  Nachos originated in the city of Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. In 1943, the wives of U.S. soldiers stationed at Fort Duncan, they were on a shopping trip to Piedra Negras. They arrived in a restaurant at the closing hours, the maitre d hote Ignacio Nacho Anaya invented a new snack for them with the available tortillas and cheese from the kitchen. He cut the tortillas into triangles, added shredded cheddar cheese and heated them, added sliced pickled jalapeno and served them.
As a food lover, it's always interesting to know the history and origin of a food item. I will try to share as many as posssible.
